Gloat vt n 幸災樂禍/洋洋得意 地注視To show in an annoying way that you are proud of your success or happy about someone else's failure. Examples Tim was still gloating over his rival's misforture. We shall not gloat over winning.

Glob n 水珠 A small drop or soft thick lump. Examples A glob of ketchup was left on the table. A glob of mashed potates was found on the plate.

Globe n 球狀物;地球 a sphere that has a map of the earth painted on it. The earth or a planet. Example: We can find this plant in many parts of the globe.

Globular adj 全球的,球狀的 shaped like a ball or a drop of liquid.

Globule n. 小球;水珠 a small drop of liquid or a melted substance.

Gloom n 黑暗 darkness that you can hardly see through; a feeling of sadness. Examples Tim was sitting alone in the gloom. "Doom and gloom" is a feeling that there is no hope for the future. Tim's future seemed filled with gloom. His death cast a gloom over his family.

Gloomy adj 陰暗的;憂鬱的 making you feel that a situation will not improve; sad. Examples: The news paints a gloomy picture of the global economy. Tim has gloomy thoughts about his future. It is a gloomy winter day. Tim always has a gloomy face.

Glory n v 光榮,榮譽, 驕傲;自豪 The importance, praise, and honor that people give someone they admire. An achievement that is greatly admired or respected, or that makes you feel proud. Examples.The new president gloried in his victory. The captain got all the glory for the victory. David gloried in his success. My wife gloried in my success.

Glorify v. 美化;讚美 To make someone or something seem more important or better than he, she, or it is.

Glorious adj 壯觀的,光榮的 Having or deserving praise and honor; very beautiful or impressive. Example. His team won a glorious victory. We saw a glorious sunrise. We have a glorious time at the beaches.
