Hack
Originally, "hack (v)" means "to cut something into pieces roughly or violently 亂砍", or "to hurt someone badly with a weapon such as a sword." For example, Peter hacked away at the ice, trying to make a hole. Tim was hacked to death by his wife.
When somebody uses a computer in order to secretly and illegally enter someone else's computer system, we say somebody hacks into someone else's computer system 不法侵入他人電腦系統的人. For example, Tim hacked into the company's central database.
When we stop to do something because it is too difficult or boring, we say we can't hack it. When you cough very loudly and painfully, you have a hacking cough 短促頻繁地乾咳.
Hack (n) refers to someone who writes low quality books, articles, etc 雇傭文人. Hacker is someone who uses a computer to secretly use or change the information in another person's computer system 駭客.
Heck
When you are annoyed or you emphaize a question, you say "heck!'. 在感歎句中加強語氣 表示惱怒、厭煩等 For example, Who the heck is that? What the heck is that? Ah, heck! I've lost my house-key. That was one heck of a storm! We had a heck of a time finding the house-key. What the heck is Tim doing?
You say 'What the heck! ", when you do something that you should not do. Want another piece of chocolate? Yeah, what the heck!.
Heckle = to interrupt someone who is speaking in front of a group of people 刁難.
Hectic = very busy, hurried, and slightly exciting 忙亂的. It's been a really hectic day. I had a hectic day with my mother-in-law.
